A thought provoking night

I watched Farenheit 9/11 this week and thought i should record my views of this controversial film. It didn't take long to realise just why the US government wanted to get this film banned. I was looking forward to see this film as i thought Michael Moore's last effort 'Bowling for Columbine' was a fantstic insightful piece of documentary making. I wasn't to be disappointed with Farenheit 9/11, the first third which dealt with Dubya's election 'win' was brilliantly put together although it left me rather frightened about how much power certain people have. The rest of the film spends much of its time exploring the decision to go to war in Iraq. Although this on the whole supported my view that the war is an attrocity it does only provide a very biased and at times floored argument (especially when Moore portrays living in Iraq pre-war with images of kids playing with kites). This was a shame, i thought that the documentary was good but Moore instead of giving us room to make interllectual desicions based upon the facts presented instead sells us his thoughts and feelings.

Go and see it and i recommend a good discussion over some real ale at the Jerusalem Tavern (Farringdon)
