Thought for the week

Sometimes tasks that we have to do seem too big, too hard or too complicated.

Jo and me are trying to organise our wedding at the moment and this is one such task. There seems to be a never ending flow of things to organise and sort out. There are cakes, dresses, suits, DJ's, Vicars, halls, food, drink, flowers and much much more. The reason we press on though is because we hope that it will be a very special day for us and our friends and family. We're going to have a look at a bunch of people who had a big task laid out before them.

Read: Matt 28:16-20

11 normal guys are told by Jesus to 'go and make disciples of all nations'. That's a huge task for 11 people in a world of billions. Fortunately for them, each and every Christian throughout time has that same calling from God. If you are a Christian your faith in God should cause you to want to share it with those around you. That can be a very scary thing but we have the promise at the end of the passage that tells us 'I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'

Prayer: Ask God to give you opportunities to share your faith with other people. Also ask him to give you the words to say to them when these conversations happen.

Action: DO IT, when these opportunities arise take a deep breath and tell them why you have a relationship with God and why you think it's important.
