24 hr famine

Finished up our 24 hours of fasting with a joint service between New River Church and Winchmore Hill Baptist Church last night. I made a conscious decision and try and do things very differently to our 'normal' services at WHBC. We used the hall instead of the sanctuary and had video and powerpoint type stuff going on as well as decking out the church differently. We shared a meal together as part of the service as well which all served to create a nice informal atmosphere. I'm sure that there were mixed feelings about the service from people but I think that it was good especially for the young people involved to see that the church are open to doing things differently at times. It's amazing how much time it takes to do something like this though. Not sure what the way forwards from this is, we'll see I guess.
