Daniel: Part 3

Do you ever get the sense that people just don't get it? I do sometimes when I'm speaking about various things, probably coz I'm not explaining it well. Anyway this is how I would imagine Daniel would have felt here.

Daniel has spent the period of chapter 2 miraculously explaining King Neb's dream. At the end of that chapter he says "Surely your God is the God of gods." We think yes he's got it but as we start chapter 3 we realise no he hasn't. After making a statue of a god he makes orders that people must bow down to it. This presents an obvious problem to Daniel and his friends, so we hear the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego being thrown into a furnace (nice). God yet again turns up and saves them miraculously again.

How would you have felt if you were King Neb after seeing this?

Think: Is there anything that you don't believe God can do? God is ruler of everything in the universe coz he created them.

Pray: Thank God for the creation that he has let us have control of and live in. Ask him to be involved in all of those situations that you think are impossible to sort out.
