Thought for the week

I am a born worrier. I can remember as a child lying awake in bed worrying about things. Sometimes it was small things but it's amazing how if you think about a small problem for long enough it becomes a big one. I still have a habit of slipping into this way of thinking, I worry about what I've done, what I haven't done, what people think about me etc. The bible has something to say to people like me.

Read: Matthew 6:25-34

God is interested in the big and small things in out lives. He knows each one of us intimately, the thoughts and things that we do. Something that I have learnt over and over again in my journey with God is that you can rely on Him. Although we often don't realise it, God is always there walking with us each step of the way. In every situation and conversation He is there and we can rely fully on Him if our desire is to 'seek first his kingdom and his righteousness'.

Pray: Write down all the things/worries that distract you from a relationship with God and stop you trying to live in a way that pleases Him. Once you have done that pray to God and ask for forgiveness, now screw the paper up and chuck it in the bin because God has made you right with Him.
