Read all about it!

I've just managed to have quick skim of our local newspaper which annoyingly doesn't get delivered to our flat. Anyway on the front page is the news that the new Enfield Oasis Academy has just been given the final government go ahead. For those of you who don't know about the academies scheme it is a partnership of 3 bodies who each give significant amounts of money to build and run new or 'failing' schools.

Donor - Oasis Trust in this case (2m)
Local Governement - Enfield Council (2m)
Central Goverment (20m)

The Oasis Academy will be built in the Enfield Lock area which desperately needs infra structure in place. Not quite sure if i will have too much involvement as it's right over the other side of the borough.

I used to study with oasis and ran the london marathon for them as well as having friends who work there. I like to follow their latest initiatives and especially this one as it's so close to home.
