Why?Why?Why?

Just got back from coffee with a young youthworker. She's really doing some good work but is finding it a continual strain having to convince her leadership to go ahead with any idea that she has. The focus seems to be employ someone for penuts (gap year) give them a massive workload that they decide upon, no resources and then give them the brief to get young people into church.

When is the established church going to wake up to the fact that they are going to have to change as well as the young people? Why is there such a one sided approach? I feel sorry for this youth worker but am encouraged by her persistance and passion, my prayer is that she continues to challenge her church and that she sticks close to God and those who will support and develop her. I really don't want to see another young youth worker burned out or crushed by the Church.

Conversally i am very encouraged by many things here at WHBC as the church really seems to be running with new ideas that i have and are generally very encouraging and supportive.
