My Secret is My Silence

So lost this post yesterday which is slighty annoying but hey ho. Anyway i've just got my hands on a copy of Roddy Woomble's first solo album. Anyway for the uninformed Roddy is the front man of scottish rock/indie band Idlewild. I first saw Idlewild in '96/'97 and they're change from a raw punky, high octane band through rock, indie and more poetic stuff has very much gone along with my musical journey. Anyway as Roddy didn't think Idlewild could get away with a folk album he's gone and done it himself.

'My secret is my silence' as well as being a great title is also a thing of real beauty. It's melodic with thoughtful lyrics and is the best album i've heard for quite a while. Jo and me are off to see him and his band at the Bloomsbury Theatre a fairly small, intimate place on Friday night. Really looking forward to this one now.
