Cheerleading

Well i'm sure this is the first time that take that have made it onto this blog. For anybody that missed an audience with them on sat evening here they are performing. The reason i post is that if you watch carefully you will see the Ascension Eagles Cheerleaders from Custom House dancing and throwing stunts in the background before finishing with an impressive 3 high pyramid. Let me stress that they are not the first group of more scantily clad dancers near the start.

Check out the Ascension Eagles website here to find out the full history, it really is the most creative and best outreach project that i have had the privilage to work with in some small way. They give these kids so many opportunities to travel around the world, think about the bigger questions of life and God as well as offering mentoring/homework support amongst much much more.

It was great to be down in Custom House with my friends from Ascension Church as we hung in the only place to be 'The Garden Cafe.' I miss that community of people who are real, all pretense stripped away in a pretty difficult neighbourhood. As we ate Tony's comment was that if Jesus had been walking around Custom House he would have started a story with 'What is the kingdom of God like, well it's like the Garden cafe.' This is truely a place for food for the body and for the soul.
