Exam Attack

For those of you who have Year 11's or others who are facing exams over the coming months there is a good website that you can steer young people to called Exam Attack. It does a good job in dealing with some of the emotions and issues that could arise. It also offers the opportunity to use their material so that you can offer this resource to schools. Excellent stuff and it seems a great example of free sharing around youth workers.

Schools!!!

Schools can be great places to serve God but they can be the most frustrating places on earth. Today i experienced a bit of both. After arriving at school we were shown to our classroom by 2 wonderfully polite and helpful students and had the door held open by another extremely polite student. Upon our arrival it became apparent that there was some problem with our classroom as there was another class in there. Anyway we adventually got to a free classroom and the lesson was going really well until a teacher burst into the room at lesson change (we were teaching a double) and literally through us out half way through our discussion. She basically had a go at us and in no polite way told us to gather our stuff and leave whilst a shocked class looked on. Well we had to end the lesson there even though one of the students was adament that he would find us a room so that we could finish.

Well i felt i had a duty to report this teacher to senior management, it seems amaing that somebody would treat school visitors in that way.

So today i have seen the best and worst of an Enfield Secondary School. the saving grace is that we have this class next week and will be able to finish off some of the stuff we didn't get through.
