Sunday
Rat's just lost this post, so here we go again.
Was preaching at church on Sunday. Had a good time as we looked at the road to emmaus. We focussed around the question why was Jesus' identity hidden from the travellers? I even got away with doing some group work. We also looked at acting upon the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit.
Had some good feedback about various parts of the service (we still have that mentality that the 'preacher' leads worship, does the childrens talk and the sermon). Tried to steer away from the one man band thing by getting some people to help out. Used a confession and also a version of the Lord's prayer that some of the students that i work with at our local secondary school wrote.
Spent the rest of the day having one of those proper roast dinners that only mum's can cook. Then Jo and me rented out a DVD called 'Happy Endings' (Steve Cooghan+Lisa Kudrow) which turned out to be a real head scratcher that you really had to concentrate on. We had intended to have a easy non-thinking just consume it night. Really enjoyed the film though.
